Whale watching

Off of the point in Yachats Oregon. We had just had a lovely Italian meal at Heidi's and while walking the dog we spied a whale. Camera shy as all whales are it was hard to get her on film but she obliged somewhat.

Later at our very quaint mid century motor lodge on the water, we shared a beer and a glass of wine some snacks and some sharp cold wind. In our room there was a very quaint metal efficiency kitchen. I thought it was really cute and charming. Louise thought it reminded her of the tiny little kitchen her mother turned out the family meals from in Holland. One picture is the kitchen closed and then the next open to reveal a fridge, stove, cook top, sink, and storage. I think this is where Fisher price got the idea. Even the round glass shower was retro and very mid centry. Built in 1947 and hardly changed. The horse shoe pit and outdoor bowling lane awaits. Great location on the ocean. A fabulous beach.

Oregon and back or bust 1st post

I couldn't wait to get out in the morning for a walk with Lexi along the beach. We had a nice view from our little room, not as nice as this but we could enjoy the beach and the ocean. And of course the smoke from the beach fires at night. Oh well. Early morning was magical.

I wouldn't have known that this was an Auk rookery if I hadn't gone to the Oregon Coast aquarium in Newport the day before. They tell me that the crested Puffin and the Rhinoceros Puffin are two that nest here.

Tillimook Light House. Turns out that this has absolutely nothing to do with the cheese.

The houses on the bluff sell for more than a $1,000,000. and this is the view.

If I lived there and woke up to this tsunami warning siren I would die of a heart attack well before the tsunami arrived.

Baby B

I met my new little great neice and what an adorable little thing. I have 4 great neices...one of whom I have yet to meet. This is the latest one...what a cutie just 72 hours old when I met her. .
